Radiology is now the key diagnostic tool for many diseases and has an important role in monitoring treatment and predicting outcome. Diagnostic radiology can be used to identify a wide range of problems. Broken bones, heart conditions, blood clots, and gastrointestinal conditions are just a few of the problems that can be identified by diagnostic imaging. In addition to identifying problems, doctors can use diagnostic radiology to monitor how your body is responding to a current treatment. Diagnostic radiology can also screen for diseases such as breast cancer and colon cancer.

INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY

Interventional Radiology department of Sugam hospital successfully diagnose and treat conditions with the guidance of our imaging facilities such as Ultrasound, CT scan, Fluoroscopy etc., to guide their work. Our Interventional Radiologists specialize in procedures to find and correct problems, often deep inside the body, without surgery.

For many procedures Interventional Radiologists pass a thin tube (catheter into a blood vessel) through a tiny incision. They then thread the catheter through the network of vessels to reach the target area and inject the dye. The dye shows the exact site of problem in the vessels and it can be corrected through catheter based minimally invasive treatment without surgery.

Our Radiology Department has expertise in various Interventional procedures like
  • USG/ CT Guided Biopsy
  • USG/ CT Guided Aspiration
  • Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA)
  • Percutaneous transvenous mitral commissurotomy (PTMC)
  • Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) Closure
  • Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) Closure
  • Aneurysm Coiling
  • Peripheral Angioplasty
  • Aortoplasty
  • Temporary Pace-maker Implantation and Permanent Pace-maker Implantation
  • Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter placement
  • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
  • Correction of the Vascular Anomalies
  • Percutaneous Nephrostomy
